    1056 Dacs ?

    Hi all,
    Thinking about taking the plunge on a 1056. Anyone know what make & rate the DACS are in this unit ? A quick search here reveals the 1055 had AK 96/24. Also, when the display is dimmed, does the blue standby power light go off as well ?

      Well I haven't opened her up yet but it's supposed to be a Crystal Semiconductor DSP (by Cirrus). Series 400.

      You can't dim the display, just on/off. The blue LED is always on.

          Yeah the cirrus is the main processor. I want to know the output DAC type.

              I think this is going to become an emphasis discussion topic in the future, so I'll start a dedicated thread to it.

              As mentioned in the other thread with info on the new upcoming controllers, they will not have Audyssey MultiEQ processing that is somewhat prevalent in today's market....

              Hi folks, this is my first post on this forum. Just a quick question on how good the DACs are on a Rotel RSX-1056. Could they be used instead of the DAC on a DVD or CD player. The reason I ask is that I don't haev room for an AV and HiFi set up in the same room but music quality is important to me....
