Wondering if anyone owns this machine, or if anyone can compare the two channel sound of the 1050 to the sound of the 1056 surround receiver.

Well I suppose this must be yesterday's news to this forum but I am hoping that someone can help me out here...
I have a Rotel RX1050 receiver which I like a lot - smooth, responsive and accurate.
However, a RR939 remote came with it which does not allow me to set things... -
...has anyone noticed that when playing a CD in the 1050, when the skim left button is pressed, it first jumps ahead about 20 seconds in the song before starting to skim backwards? Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a unit that does NOT do this?

Basically, when listening to music the 1050's protection light comes on, the light goes off, the amp clicks a few times, and then normal behavior for about 5 minutes, when the whole process repeats!

I have a 1050/1067 combo at the moment that I like, but I'm wondering if the upcharge (about 300 US for me here in France) is worth going for the 1060 DVD player instead of the 1050. I'm 70/30 music/movies...
Any thoughts, comments or suggestions greatly appreciated... -
When viewing DVD's on my RDV-1050 I see thin blue vertical lines durring darker moments of the movie. The lines disappear when the image brightens. It is very noticable durring dark moments and durring the credits. I have tried bypassing the RSP-1068 and going directly into the Pioneer Plazma Elite...06 August 2005, 13:26 Saturday
