    I took the plunge!

I finally picked up the 1098 and I have to say WOW. Even the wife who normally gives me the 'I cant hear the difference' said that the sound was clearer with more definition.

A special thanks to Andrew for the audition, that clinched the deal.

Are there any Girder users out there that have the 1098? It would be nice to have a GML file so I dont have to teach Girder all the IR commands.

Time for more listening, I will report more later

Congratulations and welcome to Club Rotel. The 1098 is indeed a beautiful machine. Keep us posted.

My first look at the RSP-1098 and a look back
      by xavierzx11
I have had my 1098 for about a week now, but because of my family (3 young kids) and my job I have only had about 4 hours of real setup and listening time, so this is not meant of be an indepth review. But before I get started on the 1098 I would like you know a little about where I came from so you...

      Rotel 1098 and Serial connection
      by PiDD
Is any one using the serial connection to control their 1098? I did see a nice VB app but I was hoping someone was using Girder. I cant get the receiver to respond to the serial commands using Girder. I hoping there was some help out there.

Second, are the serial codes posted anywhere....

      Took the Rotel plunge
      by Glen1
Well I went and took the big plunge today. I was looking at 1066,1068 and 1055 in various combinations. I rang a friendly Rotel dealer today for some pricing and was offered all sorts of great deals including a 1068 for $1700 AUS but also a 1098 for $2300 which I grabbed. Power amp was next. ...

      Pronto or Girder 'buffer'?
      by siberian
Love my Pronto so far but I had a question that I can't find answered anywhere.

Does the Pronto hardware or Girder software have any sort of storage buffer? Here is what I am doing.
