Static Noise on RSX-1056

    Static Noise on RSX-1056

    I am getting an intermittent static noise from the receiver on 5 speakers (5.1 setup). I have tried to isolate each cable plugged at the back of the unit and it is still there. I tried turning it off then on again and it goes away. After a few more minutes it comes back. Sometimes it could be playing for 3 hours and not be there. I have no video plug in at all except the video out to the tv (the tv is not on when this occurs).

    Just wondering if anyone else has this issue or suggestions.

      I'd say take it to your dealer and see if you can reproduce it there. If you can the unit's likely faulty and the dealer can replace it. If not, at least you've ruled out the 1056.

          Has anyone had a problem with very noticeable static or crackling type noise when using Dolby PL II or any of the other surround modes? It does not happen in Dolby Digital mode or even 2ch stereo mode. It only seems to be ProLogic II or any of the music surround modes....
