    Help

I have been reading a lot of the stuff posted on the site, but I would like asking if anyone out there can help me to compare the Rotel 1095 and Sherbourn 7/2100.
I have been looking into changing my Onkyo 919 receiver to a Separates and battling of what to buy, either Rotel or Sherbourn.
Can someone who has an idea help me out? Don’t get me wrong I've read a lot about Rotel and a co-worker who have the 1095 and 1066 tells a lot too but am kind of confuse because the sherbourn has 7 mono blocks, 7 transformers, 7 capacitors, 7 triode and 7 heat sinks as well power supply that suppose to sound probably better, don’t know.
    Please help.
    Thanks

Can you look at and listen to both? Play with the features? Do that, and trust your instincts on what performs best to you.

Thanks for the advice. I think I would be better off buying Rotel since everyone seems to share ideas on what's wrong and you can do to get the best on the unit. Plus you can update the firmware from time to time, also the warrenty.

      Thanks you'll for the ideas.

Since you will be purchasing separates both pre-processor and amplifier. You should read my previous post.

As you can see, Sherbourn doesn't design its own pre-processor. The amps may be OK, but doesn't inspire much confidence IMHO. Also Rotel has a much broader dealer network (world-wide) while my guess is that Sherbourn is only a (bit) player in the US. They don't even give a dealer list, you have to e-mail them to get the list. Again, what are they trying to hide.

Egyah I can't argue with that logic You know which one we'd all pick given that this is Club Rotel  The Stillborne (opps Sherbourn oops Atlantic Tech opps Outlaw :? ) is a decent pre amp but really you're paying a big premium over the Outlaw 950 from which is based and IMO likely not worth it. Ther'es been quite a few threads comparing the Outlaw and the Rotel and nearly everyone (if not everyone) that has owned both kept the Rotel which to me speaks volumes about the sound quality of both units.

Sherbourn has had several manufacturer's reps in my territory over the past few years. The line is hard to sell. We tried a few peices in custom jobs and had some problems with their amps - so we never got into the line. Rotel is a much better choice.

I too just upgraded from my Onkyo Integra SV-TX919THX receiver to the RB-1075/RSP-1066 combo. I'm very happy so far.

My very first impression (I just hooked it all up last night) is that bass is much snappier, and clean. The second thing I liked right away was the Pro Logic II feature. I threw in a crappy old video tape of a tennis match I had taped and it sounded pretty darn nice with the Pro Logic II setting.

I'll need some more time to play around with it before I really get a good impression of it.
