HDCD IN 5.1

Hey, Be patient with me I am new here.
I noticed that HDCD'S only play in two channel audio, is there a way to get HDCD to play in 5 channel?

No you can't apply two DSP's on top of each other.

If you're playing with a HDCD cd-player, you can set the DSP mode 5 channel stereo. But I think thats not the answer you wanna hear .

But, its 5 channel music that way :LOL:

Depends on what you mean by "5 channel". If you have a CD-player that can decode HDCD you could use the analog inputs (CD or multi) and apply various DSP-modes to it, including "5 channel stereo".

But true 5.1 is only possible if the source is DD/DTS or SACD/DVD-audio, not HDCD.

You can't apply DSP effects to the multichannel inputs so you'd have to use an analog input then apply one of the DSP's at that point. I have to wonder though if you'd hear any of the benefits of HDCD if you then apply a DSP over it.
