    Never knew Rotel made monsters like this in the past?

      Yep, that amp is awesome. Rotel made that amp about 28 years ago or so. They really "over engineered" that unit. Three channels, 500 watts per channel, and believe me when I say you can get much more than that from it, and a pretty cool look for its time. Just so you know though, the thing weighs about 130lbs.

          In '97 Rotel made a superb CD player, the RCD990. For what I know it was limited available for a short time. So I was wondering...

          How many are made? Is it really the best CD player Rotel has ever made? What was so special about this player?

          I know that Rotel is a British company, but are all their products (amps, receivers, processors etc) actually made in Britain, or are they made elsewhere (Asia, Japan, USA?)

          Did anyone consider NAD when purchasing the Rotel? They both get high reviews as being very musical. The NAD is considerately less money. Are they in the same league?

          Also, what country is Rotel made in?

          I have an older Rotel power amp model RB 870BX - I believe it's from the late 80's. I've had it for a few years and use it to power the fronts on my RSX 972 receiver for 2 channel listening - 100 w x 2.
          My quesiton is (for those that know this amp), will it be much of an upgrade...

          I remember Rotel made a statement line during the 90s called the Michi series. This series was known to use higher quality parts and compete with the big boys, but it came at a higher cost than usual Rotel products. And, from what I recall, was more popular in Europe than America.
