Rotel rsp-1098 Release Date Delayed Again...

I've been waiting for the 1098, the release date has been pushed back twice. Originally it was supposed to be out in March, and then April, and now May. Anybody has any insights as to why? I am in the process of looking into upgrade with B&K Reference 50 and Rotel rsp-1098 as my two contenders. I hope this trend is not going to continue, since I will eventually has to decide if continue to wait make sense (sort of waiting for a vaporware, I guess...) thanks....

I'm with you I'm waiting to upgrade my aging 985 to the 1098. May seems like a long time away.

how do you like the RSP-985

I know it is getting old, but it was a fine (and very expensive) processor. Is it any good in Stereo ?

The news I've heard is that both the new pre amp and dvd players are almost ready to go. They're just tweaking a few things they've learnt from the various shows and demo's they've been doing but its nothing serious so its looking good. Rotel's a pretty small shop compared to some of the bigger guys so it takes longer to gear up production on a new line...regardless they should be out late this spring or possibly earlier but they don't want to promise a hard deadline just yet.
