Variable crossover setting?

    Variable crossover setting?

    I was just curious if the 1055 has the same crossover options as the 1066? And is that crossover setting from 40hz to 120hz in 20hz increments?

    The price of the 1055 could fit my budget sooner, plus I would have amplification for speakers in other rooms if desired and a built in tuner.

    Would I be losing anything going with the 1055 over the 1066?

      Yup, same crossover options. 50, 60, 80, 100, 120..

      In theory you lose a little bit of sound quality, but you do gain some amps and a tuner..

          Thanks for feedback. I can probably sacrifice very minimal distortion in favor of a tuner and some amps for later use.

              Neal,

              Dont hesitate to try the 1055. I have one used as a preamp only and love it. I would be willing to bet that I couldnt tell the difference between the 1066 and my 1055.

                      I can't figure this one out.

                      My 1055 will randomly shut down right after being turned on (after 15 seconds or so, no real definite time reference) and may do so several times before staying on with no problems afterwards. Really weird.

                      I use it as a pre-amp hooked up to...

                      Ok... [assumption alert!] considering the 1055 is the low power reciever with the same internals (pre /pro section) as the 1066 and has the tuner section and is cheaper than the 1066... what is the pitfall / logic to getting a 1055 instead of a 1066? I would be able to get a nice 200 watt two-channel...
