    [Another] New Rotel Owner

Recently started putting together a new home theater. I have been reading and learning here for the past 2 weeks or so while determining what to buy to replace my Denon 1801. Bought an RSX1055 and RMB1075 yetserday.

Just wanted to say "thanks" for such a great board. I'm sure I'll be posting some newbie questions as I try and piece this all togther.
Now if the wife would just buy the new sofa I could figure out where to put my surrounds in the ceiling ....

I'd consider keeping those surrounds at ear level if that's an option... Congrats on the HT as it comes together! Wives, and sofas? That could take years, lol.

        HELP: Boomy bass from Sofa
        by sarsi
I recently replaced my sofa with a new fat and bulky italian leather sofa 2+1+1 into small living room 4x6m. Now I realised that when listening from the sofa there is a very boomy bass from the low frequency instrument such as bass (at a higher volume can even felt it on the sofa armrest). Curiously,...

        Sofa eats low bass?
        by yfei
        Hi,

My setup is 2 B&W N803, no subwoofer. The sound was great, full of bass.
I just added a 3 seat mid size leather sofa to the center of the room. Suddenly all the low bass disappeared!
The room is about 100~120 inch wide, the sofa is 72 inch wide, the distance from...

        Modula M/T vs 1801, MBOW1
        by Kaneohe boy
I've already commited to building a pair of Modulas, but am curious if anyone has done any comparisons to the Ellis 1801b, or MBOW1. Both of these seem to be well regarded designs. The 1801 uses considerably more expensive drivers, and the MBOW1 uses the same tweeter.

        STEPFORD WIVES -- the remake
        by George Bellefontaine
... and if you liked Ira Levin's novel and liked the original film, that pretty much followed the novel, then you will look at the 2004 version as perhaps National Lampoon's Stepford Wives. I didn't mind the comedic approach, and was ready to accept it right up until they took a different, and may I...

        NEW B&K Owner!
        by Jeff Doolittle
        Everyone,

I had no idea this board even existed while I was choosing a Pre/Pro and Amp. Anyway, as of last Friday I'm finally the proud owner of a B&K Ref 30 and Ref 7250! [Only took three weeks ]

The Ref 30 doesn't run as hot as some posts on here suggest but my...
