This is no April Fools Joke folks. During the next couple of days, we will be picking a day to migrate HTGuide to a new server. We will have the same reliable service we have always had, as we are not changing Hosting Services, only moving to a new updated state of the art server! Support is working to coordinate things right now.
We will announce the date of migration from old server to the new server in due time. We hope to minimize downtime while the DNS propagates to our new IP address, and service is restored. But some downtime is inevitable.
There is a difference in sound between them but it really is pretty small. The 1075 is definitely more impressive looking with it's added dimensions (IMHO). So I guess really what it boils down to in the end is whether or not the savings is worth any potential lost warranty coverage and support issues. Haveing said that the 985 mkII is a pretty solid unit in terms of reliability. Hoped that helps a little at least.
the 985 MkII still has a higher capacitance value and a higher damping factor (260 vs 180) than the new model.
Does this mean that Rotel is like car manufacturers? They've been cutting corner at places where the average consumer cannot see to keep price constant. A new car is always nice. But sometimes when you drive an older model you just come to appreciate that it is just as good or better than a new one...
