The RS-232 port is used for doing firmware upgrades or control via the PC. There's a pdf document on the Rotel site outlining the parameters for the PC control. I also posted a thread in the main chalet area about a new product from Rotel (look in the CES thread) that will utilize this port as well. (it connects your pre amps to a broadband router for viewing on a broswer window on your PC)

First question, does this unit provide the verbose feedback that other Rotel units do? I'd love feedback on volume status, input selection etc.

I am trying to control it with Crestron and having problems. I am not sure if the problem is my hacked together cable or the serial strings...

      Firstly,...

      Port

A loudspeaker port, also known as a bass reflex port, vented enclosure, or ported enclosure, is a design feature used in loudspeakers and subwoofers to improve their low-frequency performance. It operates based on the principles of Helmholtz resonance. In a typical loudspeaker, when the speaker cone moves back and forth, it generates both front and rear sound waves. The front sound wave radiates into the room and produces the desired sound output, while the rear sound wave travels...

I have an older RSX1055 with original version of firmware. Recently hooked up two CB speakers and utilized the redirect feature in the on display menu. Initially the RSX1055 would reset the redirect back to front speakers. I called Rotel and was told to update the firmware. Then I called...
