    RDV-1092 Won't Read CDs

    Works great on DVDs, which I really use it 99% of the time for, but will not read either CDRs or prerecorded CDs. They load and it recognizes them but once start is hit they won't play. Just had the unit serviced by Rotel in July. Due for a trip back?

      Hi Paul,

      The specs for the RDV-1092 state that it will play DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, Audio CD, MP3 in CD-R/RW, DVD-/+R.
      This information indicates that:
      a) it isn't designed to play CD-R/RW (because if it is then they would probably say so)
      b) it is designed to play CDs.
      If it isn't playing CDs then it must be faulty so I would get onto Rotel.

          Has anyone had to re-start there RDV1092? I am having to do this on a regualar basis, it seems to lock-up fairly easily. Sometimes I don't know why it locks up and other times it will lock up from a series of commands sent to quickly.
          Anyone??

          I'm going to archive my CD list and pick out the song i like , then record to CDR. The problem is i don't know which brand of CDR is the the best. THere are many on the market these days. Do you have any suggestion and where i can get it?
