    Rcd -1072

I bought a used but pretty much brand new RCD-1072 today and I auditioned it before taking it home it preformed flawlessly in all Rotel set up. When I hooked it up into my system I immediately heard a loud Buzz from the front left and right channel. My system which consists of the RSP-1098, RMB-1090,RMB-993,RMB-1070 has always been quiet as a mouse. I then disconnected the new cd player and voila the noise was gone ,I experimented aa few more times and each time I connect the audio RCA jacks this annoying hum returns even if the player is turned off. Any ideas?

Does the power cord have a ground pin?

Is the RCD-1072 plugged into a different outlet than the rest of your equipment?

it is plugged into a furman surge protector, but I just discovered something really interesting I unplugged the digital coax connection and the noise immediately went away!

sounds like the connection on the digi coax connection is probably touching the case or something like that and causing a ground loop.

You could try any RCA cable just to see if it comes back when plugged into it.

Most likely you might just simply have to skip using that...which unless you got a better dac, you want to use the analog outs to use the DAC in the CDP.

How's it sound (without the buzzing of course)?

          Rcd 1072

Discovered something else quite interesting if all 3 connections are made the noise returns. All I have to do is disconnect either the coax or the analog rca's and the noise disappears!

Like PewterTA said, just use the analog outputs of the CDP. The DAC of the CDP is easily better sounding than the RSP1098.

              Rcd -1072

The RCD=1072 is nicely settled into my system using it in the analog bypass config sounds great ,couldn't be happier with this player!

                G'day,

I was in a hi-fi store the other day, and mentioned that I had the Rotel RCD-1072 CD player. The sales dude then mentioned that I "did not have Rotel's top of the range cd player", and proudly pointed to a RCD-02 CD player in the corner.

                I scoffed at this,...

Decided to return the RDV-1060 for a RCD 1072
                by DUCKY
                Gents,

I originally bought the RDV-1060 aiming to use it for both CD's and DVD's. Unfortunately the unit I received had some issues so I almost immediately had to give it back to the shop for repair.

After my RDV-1060 came back from repair (gone for a month after handling...

                RCC-1055, RCD-1072, RCD-02 and RCD-06 - what the difference?
                by audiojunky
Rotel seems to have quite a few CD player and I'm having a hard time understanding the difference between them.

Is there a difference between the RCC-1055 and the RCD-1072 (except for the fact that RCC is a 5 disk changer)? I mean is there a difference in quality?

                I read...

                Hi,

Has anyone done the comparison of the above two (or similar such as the RCD 1070 or RCD 02 etc). I have a RSP 1098 and am interested in the level of audible difference with the Analogue input and the digital input (given that the RDV 1060 is only a but more that the RCD 1072 I was

Sorry this is so long, but I want to paint an accurate picture.

A little over a month ago I purchased a RCD-1072 to add to my RSX-1055. Prior to the 1072, I had been using a roughly 15 year old Denon DCD-1520 which at the time was one of their top of the line CD players...this thing weighs...
