    phono amp

Hello everyone this is my first post. I've just got a Michi RHC passive pre and I'am looking for a phono stage that I can use with it. I don't listen to LP's much so I don't know that I want to spend alot.

      Welcome to the Forum!

Are you using MM or MC cartridge?

Maybe you should spend a lot, then you might be listening to more LP’s (just kidding)!

Just a few suggestions off the top of my head:
      • Cambridge 540P ~ $100

        NAD PP2i ~ $130

        Music Fidelity V-LPS ~ $150

        Cambridge 640P ~ $180 (a V highly regarded phono-pre that belies its under $200 cost)

Or, go with something like a NAD PP3i ~ $200 that has USB output so you can get all your vinyl onto a digital format.

        Battery powered phono pre-amp???
        by kpodolski
I have a Cambridge 640P and had some questions regarding powering it via a battery instead of the wall wart. The pre-amp requires 12v .05a. Before wasting time and money building a battery pack I used my 12v motorcycle battery. When I power the unit up with the battery the power indicator lamp lights...

        Cambridge VS NAD
        by JPHIL
        Hi,

        I have audition both system.

        Cambridge 540A
        Cambridge 540C
        Rega R3

this is the system I prefer for the crisp and clear mid's and high's. Also the Simaudio Moon i-5 was superb, but much higher and not that much difference in sound to my...

This came to my attention because of a flyer from Audio Advisor offering this unit for just $999.99 on April 1. (no fooling).

While the performance is not quite up to the standards of say, an AURALiC Vega,...

        budget CD players
        by Andrew Pratt
So if you were looking at a budget CD player which would you prefer the NAD 541i or the Cambridge Audio D500SE? Both are about the same price new. I've love a Rotel but I can't do the carpet and CD player if I go with the one I want and the Cambridge and NAD get glowing reviews...hmmm. I might be able...

        Impressions on the NAD M51
        by PewterTA
Well I've had my NAD M51 for over a week so far using it everyday and I figured I'd post up some impressions and opinions on the DAC. First I will say that my unit is a factory (NAD) refurbished which saved a few hundred bucks on the unit. I ordered it from SpearIt Sound up in Massachusetts and they...
