    Dell Laptop to RSP-1068???

    hello all,

    what connection would i use to hook up my laptop to my proccessor? since we have no jazz stations in philly, i found" pandora radio." now i jst want to run it thur my system.

    The easiest thing to do is to connect the headphone output to an available input on the preamp using a stereo 3.5mm to stereo RCA cable. If your computer has a line out that would be preferable. If your computer has an optical output (which is usually the same socket as the line out) that would be the best one to use. Just check the manual for the computer and see which of those outputs it has.

        The best thing to do is to find a USB -> TOSLINK adapter, such as http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Transit.html. This will let you use the DAC's in the processor, which will sound infinitly better than the one in your laptop (unless your laptop supports Optical Out of course). Such a device will also allow AC-3 and DTS pass-through.

          i don't have a free optical port so the rca cable is the only way.
