    Rotel Multi Room System

I am interested in doing a whole house system with music in several rooms. It looks like Rotel has a nice kit for the wall controls, etc. What all is required to pull this off? Is there a specific processor I should be looking at? I suppose I will need the hub and a few wall controls, Cat 5 wire and a big multi-channel amp. I do want a surround sound system with HDTV in the main room and then just music in the satellite rooms. I don't want a receiver, want component system. I have used Rotel in the past and currently have an RT1084 HD Radio Tuner, love it. Would prefer to stick with 10 series to match the tuner.

I am considering using Paradigm in wall/in ceiling speakers, anything else I should be considering? Perhaps B&W speakers to go with the Rotel gear?

Anybody done a multi room system using Rotel?

    Frog,

I am sure you could do it with Rotel but why on earth choose this path? Why not use e.g. Sonos which does this so very well? I have the Sonos ZP-80 for distribution with a number of Rotel amps around our house.

    Cheers,

    Darren

If you don't want a receiver, you're stuck with either the RSP-1069 or RSP-1570. You would need the hub, keypads, and an amplifier.

That would give you surround in the main room and music in three other areas.

Okay, thanks for the tips. I will also look into the Sonos as an option. I would imagine that newer RSP-1570 would be a great unit.

Ok, So I landed a sweet deal on a new Denon DVD-2900 ($720.00 delivered) and I should have it no later than Friday.
Question a: I have never had a multi channel unit, so is there anything I need to do on the RSP-1066 or RMB-1075 to set it up?
b: I have never updated my 1066 it is something...

Rotel 1052 Multi Zone Set Up
          by Jagguy
I'm new to HTguide, and this is my first post. I just purchased a Rotel 1052 and rcc 1055. I downgraded from HT to 2 channel because I will be somewhat transient and carrying 7 speakers and gear can be a little cumbersome. With that being said, I'm posting to see if there is anyone that has utilized...

Hey guys I was talking with Rotel this morning and I have some news I thought I'd pass along.

The 1098 has been given some fairly major upgrades after touring around the world at the various trade shows and from all accounts it looks like its going to be quite the product. There's been...

          Hi everyone,
I recently put a bedroom system up consisting of a pair of B&W 685's and a 610 sub, I am using a sonos 120 to drive the system. The sonos amp is rated at 55 watts/channel and states that it will "recognize" when a sub is connected and direct frequency through it's...
