RSX1055-F/W upgrade Write Fail

Hello all,
Been absent for some time.

I've been getting annoyed at my RSX-1055 defaulting back to 2CH and noticed that the latest F/W 2.3 should make the unit default to DPLII cinema. I downloaded all the instructions and started the update but it isn't working.
Firstly, I have the Rotel DB9 to RJ45 cable that came with the unit. The Software Upgradeable switches are on. My current F/W is 2.2.5 to I downloaded the 2.3 version - (x420_1066v230_20071031_mb_6938.bin). Ran the MTTY program and everything went fine until I upload the file and then I get about a hundred odd lines of;

fail address = 0x00017fec0x00fc00b6 = 0xfc
>>Write Fail, Try again.
fail address = 0x00017fec0x00fc00b7 = 0xef
>>Write Fail, Try again.
fail address = 0x00017fec0x00fc00b8 = 0x64

etc.. (you may notice the last 6 digits change). When I then disconnect the unit remains unchanged (at least it isn't bricked !!!)

Can anybody help me?

if still under waranty, your dealer will do it or even return it to Rotel's HQ and have it done, as weel a an inspection and internal cleanup. (did it...)

as you are, ask for them to do the MB resistor cut on the multi board...you never know when you will put your hands on a BR player that has 7.1 analog output...

if not under waranty... ?

Are you running straight out of an RS232 port, or using a USB to rs232 adapter?

So you do get the Download new program? 1, 2, 3 prompt?

on XP.
1,2,3 prompt??? - I guess that's a no.

Its no longer under warranty - had over 3 years. I am on good terms with the dealer and he would probably look after me anyway but I have to get into the city and that's a big deal.
