    Power for my Rotel

    Picking up the following tomorrow

    Rc-1070
    RB - 1080
    RCD - 1072
    B&W 683 floorstanders

I know the 1080 is power hungry and I have the problem that I only have one power socket on the wall, therefore I will be running all my units of a 10 way 3000W extension tower.
The tower will also have my plasma, pc, ps3 and a few other peripherals plugged into it, do you think I'm going to have any issues.

    Thanks

Doubtful. I'm running a whole lot more on a single 20a outlet and I'm not nearly maxing it out.

Not sure of how you will be controlling it, but I wouldn't turn everything on at once though.. IE, audio first and then video after about 5 seconds. The 1080 and plasma will draw a lot more current then they will normally use when you first turn them on.

You can tell if your system is not getting enough juice by an increase in sibilance, specially with female vocals.

I have the following hooked up tp my RLC 1080:
          Sony 52" XBR3
          Sony S1 Blu-Ray
          2 Xbox 360's with HD-DVD
          Rotel RSP 1098
          2 Rotel RMB 1080's
          Rotel RMB 1070
The only problem that I have encountered is when I power up my entire system to play my Xbox 360. I will get the 3 ring of death because of the power draw from the amps turning on. When I power up just the TV & Xbox first, with the Rotel's powering up second, I don't have this problem. I am very happy with my RCL 1080 as it has saved my system times in the past year. It was one of the best purchases I have made. Also I have my RCL 1080 on all the time.

I built a 5 foot wall and painted it black for the purpose of hiding all of the exposed cables ETC..The wall fits nicely between the Audio Rack and the Entertainment unit.It also acts as a support to reinforce the Audio rack.

RB-1080 or RB-1070 power amp to purchase?
            by thyname
Hi guys: As I am thinking more and more to upgrading to separates, I came to a question of whether should I consider a 2 Ch RB 1080 or RB-1070. I initially thought of just purchasing 1070 as it is USD 300 cheaper and I think 130 W per channel is more than enough. However, I know that 200 per channel...

            by azsyno
Hi Everyone... Yesterday I set up the remote 12 volt trigger functionality on my 1080. I used a AC Adapter from Radio Shack (thanks for the ideas on that!). Now I am left to wonder if I've set it up correctly. Here's the deal...

The Rotel manual says to leave the power switch "ON"...

            rb1070 or 1080 with 1075, need help
            by RisBo
            Hello
I have 1066+1075 to power 805S,htm-4s and soon two pairs ds7.Everything below 80hz to sub.
In general people ad 1080 to give more power to their full-range fronts but what if I with 1075 power up fronts and surround back and use 1070 for surround left and right. Is this good combination?...
