Tangible gain - combine new Amp with 1067?

Hello. I currently have B&W 804s & an HTM4S up front (and some non-descript surround speakers). They are driven by my Rotel 1067 and I am starting to think about an upgrade path. One option I was considering was adding a 3 channel amp (new or used) such as a Bryston 9BSST or a Classe CA-3200 and continue to use the 1067 as a processor (and to drive surrounds) for the time being so I can stage my expenditures. Was curious if folks thought I'd hear a tangible improvement from upgrading the amp while continuing to use the 1067 or am I better off just waiting to upgrade to separates in one step? Thanks.

Oh yes you would hear a difference. Both of those amps would be a big improvement over what is in the Rotel receiver. If possible you should listen to each of them to see what would be a better match for your tastes with those speakers. I think it's a smart upgrade as well. If you don't have the money to jump in with both feet into separates your plan will work great.

Yes you will definately see an improvement.

However, even though it will be more expensive I think you should get a 5-7 channel amp & be done with that particular upgrade once & for all. That way all you will have to worry about is getting a prepro later on down the line.

I would definately look on Audiogon for the amp, since those very rarely change & last for years. And you would get more bang for your buck that way.

        is it worth? rsx-1067 vs rsp-1098 & 1075
        by BlueSander
Things move quite quickly for me for the last couple months. Got the 1067 and was very happy. Later on, I got a great deal on a used 1075 from a fellow member up here. It sounds terrible (listening to music seemed like trying to put piece by piece together after putting everything into a blender)connected...

        1067 w/ 1077 Bi Amp?
        by Nolan B
At present I have a 1067 powering my B&W FPMs. Id like to make a change but need to understand bi amping first.

Would it be better to sell the 1067 and buy a 1068 (or equivilant when new format comes) and 1077?

Would it be better to keep the 1067 and some how Bi amp...

        RSX-1067 or separates..???
        by IronBone
I'm new to the higher end of audio and I'm wondering what some of you think about purchasing a RSX-1067. First of all I haven't heard a Rotel system with my own ears but I will be getting the opportunity within a couple hours of now. I have read many threads off HTGUIDE.com and it seems that eveyone...

        RSX-1067 with front 805 & center HTM2 ?
        by BlueSander
Do you think they will be nice together? I was looking more at 802, 803 and 804 series but this will be my very first setup. I think taking step by step, I would value things more at the end. It boils down to a pair of 805 and HTM2 for now for the fun of it. The question now is should I go with RSX-1067...

Yet another question about RSX-1067 hiss/pop
        by rotelnyc2
        Hey all!

I'm a first time Rotel owner, been eyeing the RSX since the introduction of the 1065. First off, I did find a good amount of info on the hiss/pop issue amongst the threads, but didn't find much info on my questions and issues specifically so I decided to start a new thread,...
