    RMB-1095 Set up guidance

Hi there, Hope someone can help me from pulling the last remaining hair from my head? Here's the deal. I have recently bought a RSX-1058 (love it), was running a RB-1070 on my fronts (B&W 703's) but took the plunge and bought a RMB-1095 today. I have an HTM7 center and 686 rears.

I have been told that connecting the 686 rears to the 200w channels on the 1095 would be a waste of time? I have heard that I could potentially connect both Main and Rear channels to a single 703 (2X200W)? Can this be done without the risk of harming my RMB-1095 or 703's? If it can be done, I will leave the rears connected directly to the RSX-1058. Dilemma? Anyone, PLEASE.... Until I have this resolved, the 1095 is remaining in its box, very sad indeed.

    You were told wrong.

You can "bi-amp" as you've sort of described, but if you're new at this, I wouldn't bother... simply hooking up two power leads to the speaker (passive bi-amping) usually doesn't create any audible improvements, and in reality does not create extra power... some people get some audible benefits from active bi-amping, which involves opening the speaker, bypassing the internal crossover and replacing it with your own outboard EQ/crossover – not for beginners... and results vary.

You've got a nice power amp... hook it up the normal way, create equal distribution of power (you can't have too much), and enjoy your system.

And hang on to your RB-1070... you can tinker later.

        Hello all!

I wasn't sure where to put this within the forum but since it is somewhat of a DIY project I thought I'd post it in the Mission Possible DIY area, if this is the incorrect area mods please move it to the correct area.

I never intended to build my own amplifier...

I've just assembled a system, consisting of using a denon 3805, running preouts to an rb1090 and a rmb1095 ( unbalanced).

I am only getting weak sound out of the main right and left front but nothing out of the other five speakers which are connected to the Rmb1095.

        by szap
I've been wanting to put together my first nice stereo setup for awhile now and I just recently decided to get started on it. After auditioning a few different types of speakers I settled on a pair of the new B&W 686.

For now, I will have these setup in my bedroom. Before I can...

Help about 685 and 686 comparison when bass is cut at 90 HZ

        Hi all!!!
This is my first post and the main reason (the only one) is because there is a B&W Fan club!

I am a great fan of B&Ws too (my first one was a pair of 602 S2).

Well, i am about to set up my new system in the new (smaller) house.

SPEAKER STANDS for 685 and the 686
        by e.mann30
I just recently purchased the 685 as my main speakers , and the 686 for the rear surround speakers. I don't want to buy the FS-700 CM because of the price. What speaker stands do ya'll recommend for each pair (685) (686) ?
