    RB-985 buzzing

    I'm a proud owner of a Rotel RB-985 and RSP-976 since a long time.
I haven't used my equipment for a while and after moving I hooked everything up again. (220V - 50 Hz)

With all the speakers hooked up without the interlinks connected, the main amp is dead quite (except the slight hiss which has always been there)
When connecting to the pre-amp to either LF/LS amp or CC amp or RF/RS amp (the 3 are seperate inside) the speakers are still quite.

As soon as I hook-up a combination of left side with right side or centre, a buzzing noise comes out of the speakers. Buzz also occurs when I connect the grounds of the inputs together.

I also tried different pre-amps, interlinks and wall sockets.

Inside I checked the grounds and all connections are still intact

    Would there be the remedy?

That's odd. So when different channels of the same amp are connected at the same time, you get a buzz. Have you tried it with nothing but the amp RCAs connected to the pre-amp?

I'm really at a loss, the amp should share the same ground between all channels. It should buzz or not buzz with only one cable connected.

Yes I tried it with nothing connected to the pre-amp and even took it in to my office to check if it was not something with the electricity in my house.

In whatever way I hooked up the preamp to main amp, even different interlinks only 2 channels but then hooked up to left and right amplifier bank in the main amp. the buzz keeps on coming back.
Also soldered new grounds inside the mainamp but that didn't help.

After I found out that the problem was still existing when I tried it in other buildings, I brought the amp straight to the repair shop.

So it is now waiting what they will find but I will keep you posted

        RMB-1095 Buzz
        by mitch57
        Hi all,

My 1095 seems to be buzzing more and more these days. I have verified that it's nothing to do with grounding. The buzzing is coming from the amplifier itself. I disconnected all interconnects except the speakers.

        Here's what happens:

        1. The amp...

RSX-1067 buzzing with only speakers connected
        by Jay Sylvester
A few weeks back, I purchased a 1067 receiver from my local dealer. When I hooked it up, I heard a distinct buzzing sound coming from all the tweeters in my system. The buzz was volume dependent, but still quite audible at very low volumes. Since it was coming from all 7 speakers in my setup, it was...

        Buzzing After Moving Components
        by jimmyp58
I am in the process of getting a new A/V rack but until I settle in on which one to get, I had to take care of the WAF with my current rack/layout. I have two tower racks currently, each one flanking my RPTV/HDTV. Each tower has a series of components plugged into a Monster Power HTS 5100; each 5100...

        Buzzing sound from Krell HTS
        by bayou
I hear a buzzing sound on all the inputs from my Krell HTS. I bought this couple of months ago and hooked it up only now.

        Setup:
The ac outlets are all properly grounded.
Krell HTS is connected to a ac outlet with a 3 prong power cable.
        Rotel RMB-1095, also connected...
