    CES 2008 - Rotel

Anyone here going to CES 2008 and able to report what they see from Rotel? Are you able to ask Rotel questions on behalf of members here?

Also does anyone know why I dont see Rotel on this list?

Hate I can't go this year.. Rotel will be in a booth this year on the floor. They will be under B&W Group, but you have to search for Bowers & Wilkins to find them on that page.

i did search, saw B&W and thought it may be part of it.

Why arnt you going? IMO with all the work you do, and all the value you add to Rotel they should fly you out first class every year so you can post your findings on here.

In this forum your efforts must have a major effect on Rotel's bottom line. Its clear your value is far beyond being just a moderator here.

        HD/BD Player

I asked someone at rotel if they could get an update on a next gen HD player. Here is the response. Predictable, but interesting.

"I actually just spoke with Rotel about this and it will not happen soon. They are having trouble finding a supplier that will supply the lasers and mechs that they would need for the player and still have the unit within a reasonable price range. They continue to look but so far no luck. Realistically we will not see a high def player from Rotel this year but possibly 2009."

I saw on the net somewhere that Rotel was introducing a new upscaling DVD at CES for I think $1,300. I could be wrong on the number, but one would have to be out of their F'n mind to buy one!! Why would Rotel bother?

Crowland - there is already a RDV-1093 that costs MSRP $1,400 that's a upscaling DVD. That was launched last year at CEDIA, I think.

I hope you're right. It was something that I came across the other day and was not able to find it again. You've got to hand it to Rotel though. I've worked for smaller companies that were constantly up against the big boys and it's not easy. ;x(

No word from Rotel at CES...

Only B&W, and they only had the Jag with the B&W system in it...

                          My CES 2001 Report (long!)
                          by migliore
Well, here are my opinions on what I saw and heard at the CES this
                          year.

I'll start off with best 2 ch sound. I think it was a tie between
Burmester and Alon. Burmester offer an incredibly musical system
(that is also gorgeous). While some of the demos were dts cd's,...

                          Disappointment at Rotel...

Am I the only one who feels that Rotel's recent offerings have been a little disappointing?

What have we had... a high end processor (RSP1582) - apparently only available available in Australia. The DAC hasn't arrived in Europe or the US that I've noticed.

                          The RA12 range...

Dang... I really tried to go to CES this year. I have event tickets and everything. Unfortunately, couldn't make it happen, and instead I'm actually at the very tip of the Aleutian Islands in Alaska right now.

Some news from Parasound at CES 2010. Sweet. Wish I was there. Anybody...
