I own the RSX 1057 and just ran some speaker wire out to my patio from my new Emotiva BPA-1 2ch amp. I have everything set up nicely where I can control the zone 2 from my Harmony 890. The thing is I do not want to take my Harmony outside and would like to have separate control out on the patio of On/Off, Volume, Source etc. What devices are you guys using that utilize the zone IR input on the back panel? I saw Rotel makes a keypad. Is this what I need or are there other options? Thank you for the help.

All the keypad is is a learning remote in the wall. Any Xantech style IR receiver will work with the zone2 IR input on the back. You can then use the supplied RR-1060 to control zone 2.
The only downside is sunlight = IR light. Trying to put an IR receiver outside can be tricky sometimes. Several companies have plasma proof IR receivers that also work well in sunlight.
If it's an enclosed patio or if you stick it under an outdoor speaker (or anything to block the direct sunlight) you'll be fine with the standard receiver.

If there anything that uses RF to transmit from a keypad to an RF receiver that then sends IR to the Rotel?
Would be nice if there was a Z Wave product that did this I could just add to the Logitech software and use my existing "Wireless Extender".- Bottom

by John22614Hi all,
I recently had the good fortune of purchasing some 804s's and an 804HTMs out of box from my local dealership at a decent discount. I recall hearing somewhere that if placed them in the sunlight the shade of the cherry wood will get darker. I would like to do that, but I am hesitant...-
