    Spades to fit Rotel?

As far as i know Rotel accepts 5/16" spades. I am thinking of getting Cardas Golden Reference Speaker Cables with cardas spades which can be either 1/4" or 9mm (designed for the typical oversized european binding post). Will the 1077 work with cardas spades or will i have to get bananas; do people sometimes bend the spades to fit a binding post; is this okay?

I think it will fit fine. If not; you could place one of the prongs in the binding post's hole and tighten the screw.

As the larger spades are not always readily available, I have found this useful when I don't want to wait to put together a new set of cables:

Go to any electrical supply outlet and buy copper ring style connectors in the size that best suits your needs. Then, using a pair if diagonals (dikes), simply cut away 1/4 of the ring opposite the terminal end. Take a file or Dremel and smooth out the cut surfaces. Presto - quality custom sized spades and real inexpensive too.

Are you saying that 1/4" spades will not fit Rotel and that i'll either have to pop one prong in the banana hole or shave some of the spade off? I'm not sure this will be any better than just getting bananas which sounds simpler and easier. What about if i get the larger ones and bend / wrap them around the binding post; will this be better?

Breaking with modern conventions - a highly musical 2-way system using an 8" woofer

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...

Anyone out there with the 800Ds had any problems with the binding posts being too smooth to grip the spades from your speaker cables??

I am using Chord Signature with spades and they keep slipping out - I have only finger tightened them so far - I dont want to get a pair of Mole grips...

Stupid question, how to connect spades to the WBT 5 way binding post?

          Hello,
I have a Classe Cap2100 amp and I'm trying to figure how to connect spade terminated cable to it?
I can unscrew a part of the binding post but it won't disconnect and I can't see where I shod stick the spade in...?

          Binding posts
          by Rolex
Who makes really good binding posts that are not ridiculously expensive? I'm building a pair of stand mount speakers right now. I'm putting a lot of effort into the veneer, the finish, and the level of detail to get what I want. I've looked at numerous different binding posts before but none have...

Can anyone confirm that the Sherbourn amp can accept 1/4" spades? I'd assume so.

How about Paradigm Studio 100s, accept bananas?

          thanks,
