    RSX-1056+1080p

I've searched and searched, and haven't found a whole lot of info. From what I understand the receiver can't pass 1080p to a display. Is there any way to fix this? Is there a firmware update that can be done, or is one planned?

    Thanks.

Do you mean the 1057? The 1056 doesn't have HDMI. I'm not aware of anything that outputs 1080p over component.

No, I mean 1056. I could be wrong, but I think HDMI isn't required for 1080p. My PS3 outputs 1080p via it's component output.

the XBox 360 also outputs 1080p via component. Never tested because my display is 1080i. I have the 1057 w/HDMI which doesn't support 1080p either. The upcoming 1058 should do that, and also have a built-in scaler. In any case, even if your display accepts 1080p, a lot of people say there is no difference between the 2 (for now).

Even though the PS3 and Xbox can technically output 1080p over component I dont think it actually can because of the copyright issues.

The 1056 should be able to pass the 1080p component signal, not sure if you will get any softening of the picture or not but you will probably not notice.

              Component Video Pass Through Capability?
              by shadow
I have a 1056 receiver and a Comcast HD cable box. My question is: I frequently watch cable tv through the tv with tv sound w/o the Rotel sound system engaged. I currently am running my cable box directly to the tv. If I run a component cable from the cable box to the 1056, then component out from...

Conect a monitor to RSX 1056
              by Vicente
              Hi everybody!

I have a spare LCD PC monitor with only a VGA input, and I was thinking of using it as a display for the RSX 1056/RDV 1060 combo as I have it conected to a projector.

This way I won't need to turn on the projector every time I need to change the setup, see...

              1056 2 channel ?
              by Bob Knarly
I am hoping someone here can help. The 1056 outputs a signal to all speakers, even when only 2ch mode is selected. One would think in 2ch mode the center and surrounds would be muted, but you can still hear channel noise.Any reply appreciated.

              RSX-1056 - A review
              by stantheman2
As promised, here is a more detailed review of my RSX-1056. I've had it over two weeks, and have spent most of my free time listening to music and watching DVDS using the 1056. That's perhaps testimony enough to the overall sonic quality of the 1056 - I'd rather listen through it than spend my free...

              RSX-1056: 7.1 analog input for Blu-Ray
              by fvoelling
              Hi,

I've been running a 1056 with a 7.1 speaker setup for a couple of years now, and started watching Blu-Ray movies from a PS3 80GB model last year. The PS3 is connected to the 1056 with digital coax and component.

Since my current setup is limited to 5.1 and 6.1, both...
