Just a note on the positive for Rotel.
A friend of mine @ work has a set of Blose 901's, forget the series, and I have been shuffling some of my ht gear to him on the weekends to try. He is just into 2 channel yet. He uses a Sherwood receiver, model unknown, and after returning my RB 1050 (only 70x2) said he and the MRS. both heard a huge difference in the presentation between the Sherwood, and the itsy bitsy Rotel using his rcvr as a pre.
I knew I was still a fan of their (ss) gear for a reason.
He has my 1056 rcvr at home now trying to figure out the tape loop so he can use his Blose eq. and give that a whirl.
I am curious to see what he hears with this all set up.
I still beleive Rotel designs for sonics, from the smallest to the biggest,
so if you want candy, go to a chain store and buy away, but if you want sound, stay with a boutique and find yourself some Rotel.
