    Compuetr Noise?

    Hi Guys,
haven't posted for a long time so excuse the absense.
Anyway I hope this is in the right thread.
I have a RSX 1056 and I have recently been getting into Home Automation.
I am using Girder and net remote. Now the problem is My amp is quite noisy since plugging in the RS232 cable. One end in my computer and the other obviously in the amp. I have used the cable that was supplied with the amp.
It is just a general type of low hum hissing sound. (Technical term ) Does anyone have any ideas how this sound can be erradicated?

If you can remove the cable and the noise goes away, then you're introducing some ground issues in there. Aside from the usual ground loop checks, the only for-sure thing I can recommend is an opto isolation box.

They can be had in the US from $100 to $200. It converts the RS232 signals into light pulses and then back in to electrical signals, basically removing the physical connection between the computer and Rotel.

I usually get them from blackbox.com, but you might be able to find one local here: http://www.rsaustralia.com

          I've got a RSP-1066 and a RB-1080 as amplifier (added with a RMB-1095 for multi-channel play back). I use a Denon DVD-3800 for the source.
When installing them, I was very pleased to listen music in stereo mode till a few minutes ago when a background noise appeared  ! I precise that the...

          by RotelBorn
I got some really good suggestions here last year regardning an USB-humming noise, and now some year later, I might try this forum again.

After being away for a week, returning home, switchin on my amp, suddenly I hear a constant "puff" from the left channel (speaker).

Nasty Ground Loop - tried *everything*
          by SteveL
I've got the worst ground-loop noise thanks to my DishTV HD receiver... and I've tried almost everything I can to fix it. I'm *confident* it's from the Dish Receiver - as soon as I unplug the coax, the noise goes completely away.

          Here's what I've done:

          Noise

In the context of loudspeaker measurements made during the design process, noise refers to any unwanted electrical or acoustic signals that can interfere with the accuracy of the measurement. Noise can be introduced through various sources, and it can affect the reliability and precision of the measurements, making it essential to minimize its impact for accurate loudspeaker evaluation. Sources of noise include:
