I'm not sure what the i was for, but the XS is for "extra speaker". If you have a 6.1 or 7.1 system set up and are listening to DD or dts, the XS tells you it's sending info to the surround back channels.

One thing came to mind as I was typing, it may have been a left over character from DPLIIx (temporary software glitch). Other than that, I'm not sure.

Before PLIIx with it's 7.1 channel support the only official 6.1+ mode was DD-EX or DTS-ES. Rotel added their XS mode for full time 6.1+. It essentially sums the rears and spits them out the center rear(s). I don't believe it removed any information from the rears however.

It's the default mode when you have center rears and haven't selected PLIIx for the surround mode. You are correct that setting up your speakers correctly removed the option for it.

Hello all, I just purchased my first Componet HT setup, 1068 and 1075 and I'm experiancing some issues.

I am using a Comcast Motorola 6208 STB, Kenwood DV-502 DVD player (not progressive), and a Mits 65809 (owner's manual ). The Cable box and the DVD player are connect to the 1068...

Recently upgraded firmware and now cannot access the setup menu on rsp 1068. I hit AUD and then Menu/OSD, 1050 remote says OSD but the 1068 panel does not change. Other buttons on the remote work such as vol, on and off, sub, and others. The 1050 also works with other units (TV, CD, Phono).

I just figured out that you can not use the OSD via component out if your using a 1080i or progressive source. I have an HD Tivo (1080i), the Zenith DVB318 (1080i) and my HTPC (1080i) that I ran into the processor via component cables and component out to my TV. When trying to use the OSD, everything...

So, I just got a 1068 today, and I have it hooked up to the component imputs of my TV (from the 1068s monitor out). If i turn the unit on, I see the boot screen, I can see the volume up/down or if I change any of the inputs, but I can't seem to get the OSD to turn on!

            I'm using the 1050...

            1068 OSD problem--HELP!
            by ATellis
Just trying to set up the new HT system. Very simple for starters: the only input source is the DVD (I haven't even replaced my old CRT and cheapo DVD yet, but I do have the 1068, 2 Aragon amps (x2 and x3) and PSB Image speakers (5.1)). However, have run into startup problem/s with the 1068:
