Right now I am using a Yamaha rx-v2095 as a pre/pro and I can't wait to buy a real processor. I don't see the sense in purchasing a 1068 if a new one is going to come out soon. When would that be? Ball park price?
When will new multi-channel processors come out?

not until next year at the earliest I would say. Hard to say if you should wait or not. If you are like me and your movie watching is 90% only HD DVD and BD then I would wait.Originally posted by BKSinAZRight now I am using a Yamaha rx-v2095 as a pre/pro and I can't wait to buy a real processor. While I'd love a 1068 replacement (still using a 1066), I am going to buy a 1058 receiver and use it as my pre/pro. This, of course, assumes that the 1058 will accept PCM audio over HDMI. Then once the pre/pros come out next year, I'll upgrade again and find another room to use the 1058 in.
I have both BD and HD DVD and it's a hassle having to swap 6 analog cables and an HDMI cable each time I want to switch formats
Most of the time I just leave the analog audio on my HD DVD player and use digital audio out from my BD. So I'm not really experiencing the joys of the uncompressed PCM on those discs...

There is nothing official on release dates or prices yet on the new SS preamps but they will show them at CEDIA in the fall. They hope to have units available before the end of the year so keep your fingers crossed.
What nash is doing could be an option for you. It should be easy to sell when you do get just a preamp later on. The RSX-1058 is in final QC right now and should be shipping in 3-4 weeks. Everything I've been told by my rep and the guys in tech support is it will do uncompressed PCM over HDMI. We will know for sure very soon.

by skaymakcaI am picking up my first rotel product tomorrow, a 1058 and am very excited but nervous. All of the HDMI business is aggravating right now with mid-fi (?) companies, but I don't really want to wait any longer to upgrade from my cheap yamaha receiver running my B&W 600 series 5.1 system.

by JagguyAs many of us are, I'm trying to figure out which component is the best for me. I'm a music guy that likes HT. What I mean by that, is simply that I critically listen to music, but like HT sound that is "good enough". "Good enough" means any newer receiver that accepts the HD...-
