Rotel Button Definitions for Harmony 1000

I am programing my new harmony 1000, and the software is bringing up some bottons on the rotel I have not used or seen, and I cant find a couple that I need. Hoping I can get some help.

What are these?

1. MovieFilter
2. PTY
3. Suround Up
4. Suround Down

I cant seem to find what the EXT, or multi input button is called according to the harmony software. Any ideas? I also cant find the Dynamic Range Control button.

I use a Harmony remote with my RSP-1068, and I know that I had to 'teach' the remote several Rotel commands, including how to switch to the Multichannel inputs. For some reason, Harmony does not seem to have the complete set...but the good news is that it's an easy fix to add them.

BTW, I believe SurroundUp and SurroundDown are the commands to scroll between the available surround decoding options (e.g., PLII, 5CH, etc.). The other two I don't recognize either.

PTY should be a tuner function that won't be used.

MovieFilter sounds like Cinema Re-EQ

I use my Harmony 880 with the rotel setup and had to teach it some functions also. It should be a very easy setup. The PTY and the MovieFilter you prob. wont use and should just delete from your list. I use a mac so the setup was very easy for me. I don't know if it is same with a PC.

Also, where did you get your 1000 from? I didn't know they where out yet. I can't find one here in Calgary. I wan't to use the 880 for the Family room and the 1000 for the Bonus room. Also how much are they canadian? I heard very good reviews on the Harmony 1000.

They were supposed to be out end of last week, but I couldnt find them anywhere. By chance there is a home automation business I go to once in a while and he had 2 in stoke. I paid $599 CDN and$170 for the RF extender.


thanks for the feedback and ideas on the other posts. I have had to teach comands yet, but looks like an easy work around.
