Does anyone know what the CD dacs are in the RSP 985. Rotel don't seem to know?

I think with this model the DAC's are integrated with the DSP IC. Perhaps this is why they could not give you the specific part numbers.

Not sure if I follow your meaning exactly, but it is not uncommon to have an integrated solution for DSP based designs. As far as I am aware this set-up applied only to some of the 900 series products. The 10 series use separate audio DAC's.

We are currently running Paradigm Studio 100's v2 & CC center with the Rotel RB-985 & RSP-1068. Will our sound improve if we upgrade to a more powerful Rotel amp? The 985 is 100 watts per channel. Will upgrading to the 130 watts amp improve the sound? Or jump up... -

The Calliope uses the DA25TX; we've used that in several designs. It's a real bargain in the performance/cost ratio; it's drawbacks are mainly the large size and flimsy front plate- I've actually dissembled these on occasion and epoxied two front plates together and re-assembled the tweeter with one... -
