Help for a decision...

Ok guys....

I have the following options which I can choose. Basically I am looking for good analog playback for CD, SACD formats and to upgrade movie playback with dvd upscaling.

1. Keep RCD1070 and mod it and add a Denon 2930CI; or
2. Buy RDV 1092 for all format playback and sell RCD 1070; or
3. Buy used marantz DV9600 and sell RCD1070

All the option above comes out to be at similar cost. I had some space problem and so adding the Denon would max out the rack and also I prefer my gears to be asthetically designed. I somehow do not like the look of the Denon but the Marantz looks gorgeous and the Rotel will blend in my rack nicely.

Not knowing the Marantz's CD playback I would say #1.. But that seems to be the least favorite to you.

Being the 1092 doesn't play SACD's I think you can rule out #2.

So check out the pending feedback on the Marantz's CD playback, looks like #3 is your best bet.

I did an A-B test Rotel 1092 vs Marantz DV 9600 (check my post http://www.htguide.com/forum/showthread.php4?t=22638) and the pity is that Marantz won (Always IMHO), because I love the Rotel look and that's the main reason I've not changed my RDV 1060 yet.

About the Denon, I heard you have to go to the 3930 to pair with the Rotel and Marantz in sound quality, and that in PQ is awesome, but I've not tested this one.

the Marantz dv9600 is a good cd-sacd machine, the Denon 2930 is sure
not bad (i have Denon3910) but with the Marantz dv9600 i see better the 3930.

Rotel RDV1092 no problem but no SACD = out nr. 2

Personally: buy the Marantz dv9600 for dvd-movie, cd, sacd, all

looks like Marantz suit my requirement more. It has analog playback with video and display off which I think is pretty cool, and sounds good. It also has similar DACs as Esoteric and a good transport. So it looks like Marantz DV9600....

You guys just help me make up my mind. Thanks. :B
