    RSP 1098 digital/analog Bypass?

Hi, Ive bought an Integrated tube amp for that warm smooth sound for music purposes, It has only analog inputs and Im streaming music from my HTPC witch has only digital coax output/spdif..
Is It possible to use the D/A converter in the RSP1098 to input the digital signal and output analog? I dont think so, I was supposed to buy a expensive soundcard with D/A and analog outputs, but tought I would try the RSP 1098 first before spending the big bucks
    Anyone got ideas?

I have the 1098..I think you can use the D/A converter in the 1098 to input digital signal and output analog!! Output Analog for sure!!!!

but how? In the menu: witch input to choose? Ive tried coaxial and analog, I get no sound from my tube still.. witch signal output would work? You have the zone2 and tape, Is there more? tried both of them

The zone2 and tape output only work with analog sources.
You need to use the standard Left and Right output.
I assume you use different power amplifier and speakers for HT. In that case you need a power amplifier which has a throughput for the signal or you need to split the signal

For movies I use the RMB 1075, and for Music the Integrated tube amp, Im not sure what you mean by splitting the signal tough, Do you mean splitting the front channel pre out?

Yes I got sound now! thanks people!! but its not very ideal to have the signal go trough the volum control of the RSP1098 and the Tube amp at the same time?
But its no other way I guess.. I will have to change the cables everytime i listen to music/ film, better that then loosing quality in a splitt.. More tips would be awesome!

              Digital Output
              by Nolan B
Does anyone know how the digital output acts on Classe SSPs? Specifically I realize if passes through digital signals, but if you have an analog signal going into the SSP which gets digitized will that be passed out the digital output? Is the digital output always active with what ever the SSP is sending...

I have a problem - I can't seem to get digital output from my sound card when using zoom player to watch DVD's, but I can when I use power DVD. However, I can't use power DVD to watch movies on my TV, so I use zoom player which allows full screen playback using the S-video output on my video card....

Mac mini music server -digital output

Building a Mac mini music server. Besides toslink or spdif, is USB the only option for digital output for inputing the DSD and PCM to the DAC? I was able to tap to the pins of the chip in a multiplayer and export directl to my DAC the PCM and DSD. Was hoping to do the same with the Mac mini as opposed...

Shootout : Parasound C2 vs Rotel 1098 (long)
              by DrBoom
Well, it's been almost 2 months now that I've lived with both my Rotel RSP1098 and my Parasound C2 and the time for deciding which I'm going to keep is almost at hand.(not that I HAVE to decide now for some reason, but I'd hate to end up with 2 processors permanently)
I actually own both of them,...

Hi all, I have been lurking in this site for some time since I purchased my RSP-1098 back on February 2003. I received the unit last week and installed it. I used to have an RSX 1065 with very good results. Only problem is that analog inputs were considerable louder than digital ones (optical and coaxial)....
