That depends on how loud you want to listen to them and if you have a subwoofer? I used to run my maggie 1.5's with a 90 watt HK power amp that wasn't nearly as strong as the 1070 is and it did fine at the levels I played..then I upgraded to a nice 125 watt musical fidelity amp and things improved a lot. Given the Rotel has about the same wattage as the MF I'd say that's a pretty good place to start. If you can afford the 1080 though I'd say that would be a wiser investment (in other words you'll keep the 1080 longer then the 1070 which might be a stop gap until you upgrade)

i have magnepan 1.6's, and i was using one RB-1070, but it wasnt enough, so now im bi-amping with two 1070's, one for each speaker. that is good, but if i could do it over, i would use two 1080's instead. but i do have a pretty open room. not big, but high ceilings and its open.- Bottom

by Turkish1480I can pick up a used 400xi for a little more than the RC-1070/RB-1080 combo and was wondering if anyone has directly compared the two? Is there a significant difference? Looking to use with B&W 703's. Thanks.-

by Turkish1480Hello I currently have a an RC-1070/RB-1080 combo powering a pair of 804S and I am looking for an improvement for about $1500. If I sell those two pieces I should be bale to get about $1,000+ for them and my dealer would take $500 off of the MA6300 sticker. Has any one had experience with these two...-

by audiofanHi,
I was torned between rb-1070 and rb-1080. Due to the budget constraint, i can afford rb-1070 , even though i would go the route " more power is better" . However, I don't think the gain in db between 1070 and 1080 is much different. What i concern about is the sound between these...-

by StevI already have the 1056 and was decided on getting the 1070 to improve the 2ch SQ over the 1080 due to the posted problems with the 1080 - dont seem to exist with the 1070. My mains are 4 ohm nominal load. Question is given that the RSX 1056 is 100w in 2ch will the 1070's extra 30w be noticeable ? Or...-
