    Using RMB-1095 DB25 connection question

First off is anyone using the DB25 connection on the 1095? Have you tried RCA cables? Any difference in sound?

I'm looking at replacing my RCA cables that I use to hookup between my pre/pro and 1095. Mainly to tidy up behind my rack. I'm interested in the CobaltCable DB25 to 6RCA

Reading in the manual it says you have to use Open Circuit RCA plugs in the unbalanced input for proper impedance. What are these as I didn't get them with my 1095 when I bought it.

Any normal Cinch/RCA cable works fine. I see no reason to use this DB25 at all, since its lacks flexibility in your choice of cables.

They are really long center pin RCA plugs.. Should have been included with your manual. They go in the RCA inputs and push a switch inside to turn on the balanced and DB25 inputs. Rotel should be able to provide you with some if you can't find them. Shorting RCA plugs WILL NOT work.

Given how thin those cables appear from those cobalts i'd be inclined to stick to well made regular RCA cables instead.

          Shorted RCA plugs
          by Andrew Pratt
I went ahead and installed some RCA plugs that I'd shorted out on all the inputs on the back of my TA-E9000ES pre amp. According to This thread on the user forum its supposedly lowers the noise floor a little more. From the quick listening I did it wasn't a huge improvement but given the cost of the...

DB25 cable caused all my issues in RSP-985
          by Rotel4Life
Got a used 985 from an auction site. Looks perfect but had a hum on all inputs, all sources, on mute etc. If it was on, there was a hum. Also there was an audio 'hiccup'- like a 1/2 sec pause in sound every few minutes. My setup worked perfectly with an RTC965, nothing changed but swapping the 965...

          1095 VERY strange Buzzzz
          by Locutus2k
Hi! I need help: i have a 1095 hooked to a 1098. The unit with the ground pin attached has a small but audible buzz. If i disconnect the ground everything is dead silent. Ok, here's the strange thing.
If i disconnect the 1098 from the 1095 the buzz goes away. So i've tried a million and one combinations,...

          Greetings Everyone,

I know I read this somewhere but can't find it in the manual or by searching.

I was looking for something else yesterday in my box-o-cable, when I ran across a little bag that had RCA plugs with black plastic caps. I'm pretty sure they came with my...

How to connect RCA 5.1 surround sound to receiver?
          by leweyht
My receiver has settings specifically for Dolby 5.1 surround send. It’s old (but still strong!) and only has RCA inputs (no HDMI or Optical). I’ve included an image of the back. I’m having trouble understanding how to feed it the surround sound information with the plugins on the back.
