Quick question for the group... how is the remote that comes with the 1056? Is it ergonomic and usable? Or, will I need to go ahead and order something as a replacement?

If you don't mind using it along with your other remotes (or remote) it's not too bad. If you want one remote, get something else.

Hi,
I have a RSX-1056, and I was able to replace all my other remotes with Rotel's. I just used the learning function on it, and everything works well. The one thing that really bugs me about it is the sliding cover :M

I have owned the RSX-1056 for almost a year but have never liked the remote - I have to reset every time I want to use the OSD, I sometimes have to enter commands multiple times, etc. I saw the Harmony remotes (659, 688, and 880) and was intgrigued by the Internet-based programming and seeming good... -
