    New Rotel owner

Hi, I'm new in this forum and a few days ago I purchased an RSX1055 and RDV1060. I stacked the two units (rsx1055 below and rdv1060 over it). This is my first question: The DVD after 2 hours become hot (45 degrees celsius), is't this normal ?. Must I separate the two units?
Thank You for your replies !!

Sorry for my poor english, I'm Italian.

    Gil,

    Welcome to the forum.

I don't own the 1055, but usually receivers and pre-pros need lots of room to breath. I would put the 1055 on top of your rack (if possible, keeping the vents clear), allowing sufficient ventilation. Is your audio rack enclosed? Hope this helps.

    Enjoy your toys,

    Azeke

      Thank you for your reply.

I haven't an audio rack, so I stacked the units on my bookshelf but in an open space on it. In these days I tried some positions but for now without result.

      BTW I appreciate your answer

If anything I'd try to place the DVD player below the 1055 not above it.

Agreed. Ideally you wouldn't have any equipment stacked on one another but at the very least I would recomend putting the 1055 on top as it will produce more heat than the 1060 and would hence benefit from having open space above it.

According to the RSX-1055 manual is that you should maintain a minimum of 4" inches around the unit for proper ventilation. I have mine all by itself on a open rack.

Thanks for your replies guys... I swapped the units according yours suggestions. I'd make some measurements of temperature the next days...

                Hello fellow audio freaks

I desperately need a new audio rack. I got a new turntable and have even less room now. I would like something that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg. I have 7 components now. 4 of them are stacked in two. PVR & PS3 stacked. And pre amp & cdp stacked....

                progressive on RDV1060
                by sirbogey
My RDV1060 came back from Rotel with an exchanged tray. When I put in a DVD or CD, it takes like 10 secs for the disc to load. This was a matter of 2-3 secs before. What have they done to it?

Another question: I changed the picture to watch a movie in progressive mode. When I do that,...

I have a C2/A51 combo on order. I intend to place these units in my MidAtlantic 60"/35U rack. What are opinions for heat control/placement of components?

Am I best off putting the A51 as high as possible in the rack or would it be better to place it at the bottom (say, up two units,...

Can anyone recommend a audio rack that can hold a ROTEL RMB-1095 amp?
                by BKSinAZ
Can anyone recommend a 'vertical single stacked style ' audio rack that can hold a ROTEL RMB-1095 amp on the bottom shelf. The Amp is 9 1/2 inches tall and requires an additional inch for air movement to keep this beast cool. The second shelf from the bottom needs to hold a Yamaha RX-V2095 Receiver...
