Sound Quality of Rotel DVD players?

i went by the local rotel distributor today ... he said that the rotel dvd players were "clearer" than pioneer dvd players.

    is this true?

well, my unpopular opinion, i had a denon3500 ,replaced it with a rotel 1060, it was a downgrade in allaspects in my system, now i am using the arcamdv29, it completely blows me away, i would look into one of those.

          happy holidays to all

I compared the RDV 1060 in an A/B comparison to the Denon 2910 and 3910. It beat the 2910 in sound and video and was equal to the 3910 in cd play back, but the 3910 had slightly (very slightly) better video quality. When it came to mutlie channel (DVD-A) the rotel was better then the 2910, and the same to the 3910.

As far as looks the Rotel blows them all out ot the water...dont negate the value of that.

If it matters, keep in mind that the current generation of Rotel DVD players do not support HDMI nor DVI.

That is a short-lived concern. The RDV-1092 is due next quarter according to Rotel. Downside: >$1,500...

Rotel DVD In my opinion Bests pratically all DVD makers in the market with regards to Sound and Vision. The price can't be beat and the quality is superb. DVD-A is sensational a positive plus for Rotel DVD and you can't beat the beautiful lines and look that Rotel has...very classic and trendy with a very expensive look to it. Good Luck!!!

I have used the RDV-1060 for several years now. It sounds fantastic through the RC1090 pre-amp, RB-1080 amp, & B&W 802 speakers. CD playback is good, but not the match of the RCD-1072. The RDV-1060 sound is much better than the Denon & Sony DVD players sound that I have tried on my system.
