    Connecting RDV-1080 & RSX-1067

Just got an RDV-1080 last week.
    Amazing player in every aspect.

Any way to verify the "rumoured" software bug in the early models was corrected?

Wondering about the coax/optical connection to an RSX-1067.

    Suggestions/Pratical Experience?

    Any RDV-1080 Owners ??

I'm hearing a surprising amount of player noise (from the tray?) when listening to DVD-Audio discs.

    Anyone have similar experiences?
Also, do DVD-Audio discs spin faster than DVD-Video & Audio CD?

Check some of the other forums here for optical vs coaxial, many different ideas.

DVD-audio's are technically DVD's, so they shouldn't spin faster. Are the disc's you are using Dual-Discs? Those are thicker then normal and have be none to cause issues on some players, and could be the reason you here it more.

        Tray Noise - Update

I've come to the conclusion that the unit makes nose - period.

Most of the time, the system is playing too loud to hear it.
(First noticed it while listening to a D. Krull DVD-Audio.)

It's an '02 model (probably normal wear.)
I'll leave it be, unless it starts to drown out my system hum.

Upgrading from B&K AVR307 to RSX1067 worth it?
          by Dmantis
          Ok,
Let me start out by saying I loved the rsx1065 and the combo of the rsp1066 and rmb1075. I own a B&K avr307 and thinking of coming back to Rotel. The rsx1067 caught my eye as did the rsp1067. Seperates would be the way to go a but the rsx1067 is so good in my opnion that I would consider...

          Help for RDV1080 modification
          by aarsoe
I have the RDV1080 DVD player - which in my oppinion is a nice player, but have (at least) one serious fault.. They forgot to put in two analog outputs for Right and Left channel and ditto for two coax digital outputs.

Does anybody know if I can just add more phono plugs in the back of...

          rsx1067 vs rsp1068/rb993/rb985mkII
          by JRambo
Hi, I recently read in a home-theater magazine that the Rotel rsx1067 was their first choice in the heavy-receiver class.. How will this receiver compare to a setup with rsp1068, rb993 and rb985mkII, when it comes to sound quality, as the price for these two setups will be about the same..

Problem playing 5.1 with AT2 on Rotel RSX1067
          by BW4me
I'm using the optical output from my Apple TV 2 for the audio connection to my RSX1067. I have never been able to get sub audio with 5.1 movies played from netflix or iTunes rentals. The same audio input on my rotel will play 5.1 from DVD or BD player. I can also play 5 channel audio from iTunes library...

          DVD-Audio discs "locking-up" my RDV-1060
          by Cracking Oboe
O.K. after all my praise about the RDV-1060 I have run into a 'glitch' with some DVD-A discs.

I mail ordered all of the Beethoven Symphonies (BPO/Abbado) on DVD-A. These recordings were rated 9/10 in Absolute Sound Magazine, so I was really looking forward to them.
          The...
