    1068 DSP modes freeze - No Sound

    My 1068 seems to freeze whenever the DSP is used, eg. 5/7 channel stereo, music 1..4, etc.. The rest of the preamp works fine, for DD/DTS, CDs, multi input, etc., just the DSP locks up.

    I can't even scroll through the different DSPs. I'm using the latest EPROM and firmware. Anyone have any similar problems? Should I try reflasing the firmware or EPROM again?

      Missed this one. Sounds like the EEPROM is messed up. It could have been a bad download. I would try it again. Also, make sure you default the unit after the firmware upgrade and then re enter all your setup. I had strange issues one time when I didn't do that.

          Thanks for your response. I've tried flashing the EEPROM first, resetting to the factory defaults before and after, and reflashing the firmware again, but with no luck.

          Looks like it's off to the shop.

              Note that the HD units indicates the newer models running the modified chipsets. If your machine is using these different chipsets please do not flash your firmware unless you've obtained the correct file directly from Rotel.

              I often follow the rule "Don't fix what ain't broken" and i really didn't have any reason for upgrading the firmware for my RSP-1068, everything worked fine, I think it was version 1.1.9.

              I never has been pleased with the stereo performance except in "analog bypass"....

              I buyed Rotel RSP-1068 processor with 1.1.7 firmware. I find that 1068 has newer software.
              But two kind of updates - firmware and eprom.
              What update apply first?
