SACD and RDV-1080

Hi,

I know, I know, you can not play a SACD format in RDV-1080, but I just could not come up with a better subject heading .

Anyways, as you are aware, most SACD dicks are hybrid which means that they also have a Redbook CD layer. I like to know if RDV-1080 can play the CD layer of the SACD disk. Has anybody tried that with Rotel DVD players?

Any DVD player capable of playing CDs will be capable of reading the CD layer off of an SACD.

So what happens when I put the disk in my RDV-1080? Would it recognize the CD layer automatically?

Yes, since the 1080 will only be able to sse the CD-layer, it will be selected.

Well as everybody else mentioned on the thread, it worked. I purchased the Peter Gabriel UP SACD and by the way, the CD layer has an excellent recording. I wonder how the 2 channel and multi-channel SACD tracks sound like.
