    RB-960 amp

I use 2 of these amps in my home theater, bridged, one for each main channel. one of them on occation gets a little static during movies on occasion. this happen to anyone else. I traced it to the amp because I switched them, and the problem followed the amp.

I'm wondering if it is because I am running it bridged. It is powering a Polk LS90 speaker. it's 8 ohms, and I have been doing this for about 6 months.

    Oshkigod,

This is most likely a part going out of tolerance with age in one of the RB-960's (could be a capacitor). Put it in for service and they problem will most likely go away.. Just run the other un-bridged while it is in for service.

sounds about right. it does it very infrequently, but if it is a bad cap, it will probably get worse over time. guess I'm gonna find a repair shop, or another amp depending on the price I can get it for.

      thanx for your help ausie

Ive owned my Classe CA-100 for 18 years. Finally got some speakers worthy of doing more and so have bought a second CA-100 with the plan of bridging them both.

I am not sure what to expect in terms of sound, but in about a week ill be able to tell. Havent had this kind of power (350w)...

Came across a B&W service manual
        by Race Car Driver
I came across a mint service manual for B&W speakers. IMO well worth what I paid.

It covers the older lines, early 90s, but its still pretty cool IMO.

        B&W Service
        by NMG
        Hi everyone,

I just thought that I'd post a positive message in regards to some great service that I received from B&W recently.

I was trying to acquire some parts for my HTM7 recently and my local dealer was unsuccessful in assisting me. To make a long story short,...

        2 x RB1070 Bridged V's 1 x RB 1080 ?
        by bleeding ears
Hi again guys, looks like I am going to have some time on my hands waiting for my preamp to get fixed so now I am pondering my next purchase.

I am considering using 2 RB1070 amps bridged to power my front speakers.
That should produce about 330 wattts per channel.

        RB 1070 amp- bridged
        by RoMan
        Hi all,

Any reviews here on using the RB 1070 power amp as a bridged unit? I see it produces 360 watts bridged. As most of you know I'm using the RB 1090(beauty amp I must say) for my mains and they kick out a beautiful 380 watts per channel.

        Would getting this amp RB...
