    Rotel RSX - 1065 VS 1075

    I have a rotel 1075 amp and am in the midst of trying to find a pre/pro {at a reasonable price}
I have been looking at some recievers and the rotel 1065 looks like a nice unit. Would i be loosing anything selling the 1075 and just going to the 1065 reciever. What does the surround processing in the 1065 compare to the 1066 or 1068 pre/pro?
Are there any other recievers that i could look at {at a decent price} that would give the 1075 and a pre/pro a run for the money??

Separates always sound better, and offer a much more flexible upgrade path. If you already have a 1075, I'd add a 1068. A 1068 + 1075 is a fantastic combination judging by feedback here.

No, don't do it. When I upgraded from a low end Denon receiver, I tried the 1056 and 1068/1075: the 1056 is halfway between the Denon and the 1068/1075 in terms of audio quality. I am actually thinking of getting a 2nd 1075, to bi-amp all channels, imo a better solution than a single 1095. With a 1056, you'll need a separate stereo amp, but may get mismatch between L/R and center. The only real alternative for you, is to get a 1056 (cheaper than 1068 in some countries) and keep the 1075 to bi-amp the L/R.

The 1065 receiver is no slouch. It's not quite seperates but depending on the demand load of your speakers, it should do very well.

When I was shopping I considered the newer rsx1067. I almost got that instead on the RSP1068 and RMB1095. The sound quality is almost Identical. Except the seperates are slighty more clear and have better synamic range at loud volumes.

Honestly if money is an issue, don't sweat going with the older rsx1065. It's a great receiver and will power up to the most demanding spekaers.

          Good luck.

Depending on your Stereo/HT ratio, I'd also consider selling your RMB1075 and get the RSX1056/RB1080 combo.

I have the RSP1068/RMB1075/RT1080 combo and if I could do it over again, I'd choose the RSX1056/RB1080 combo.

            Good luck!

ejhbay, to put them in chronilogical order, as processing for surround has changed, I believe the RSX-1065, and RSP-1066 are of the same "vintage" if you will. The RSX-1056 and RSP-1068 are newer and offer enhanced surround modes. I would think all would agree that Rotel didn't make a "slouch" so any one you would grab would keep you happy.

1075 or 1068 defective? Weird error!
                by Tony
I own a 1075 and a 1068 and now, my Rotel combination seems defective. If I switch both devices on, the left Surround channel is sometimes mute. If I make the 1068 off and then on, is the left Surround channel again there. After short time is the left surround channel many quieter than the right Surround...

                Rotel 1075 & 1068 sounds terrible! Defect?
                by Tony
                Hi!

I have a big problem. My Rotel 1075 & 1068 plays cruelly. The sound is too thin, without middles. No Dynamic. It sounds like from an old radio. No matter whether in stereo or home cinema. Everything sounds so hard. I changed the Speakers, before Sonus Faber, now Monitor Audio....

                RMB-1075 vs. Dynaudio Contour 3.0
                by Desotti
Guys, my Dynaudio dealer offered me a rarity... a pair of Contour 3.0, with the factory seal in the box!

The question is, will my RMB-1075 delivery enough power to drive them well for two channel music without a sub?

I won't be able to make an amp upgrade for a long time...

Stick to RSX1065 or go to 1055/1075 separates?
                by BleakShore
I guess I'd like to hear/learn advices/experiences from those who have gone this route.

That is, stick with the RSX1066, or exchange it for the RSX1055/RMB1075 combo? I bought it from Myer-Emco so I can do the exchange with no penalty.

                The reason I'm contemplating this...
