    IEC inlets with no ground

I am considering making power improvements (after market PC, dedicated circuit) for my HT. Neither my receiver (RSX-1055) nor my dvd player (RDV-1060) have IEC inlets with ground connections. Without the ground connections, would PCs or a dedicated circuit make any difference?

I am not trying to get into the merits of such power upgrades generally--just wondering if the absence of the ground into the components makes a difference. Doesn't most mid/hi-fi gear have three prong IECs?

Apparently upgraded power cords do make a difference even with out the ground present. I have some cable and plugs to make a pair of cables myself but I just need to order the IEC plugs.

Converting 2 prong AC cord equipment to IEC?
      by DIY_newbie
I have several pieces of audio equipment that have 2 prong no ground ac plugs. is it possible to convert this equipment to a 3 prong AC cord by adding an IEC socket, or hardwireing 3 conductor AC wire with a 3 prong plug?

Is this a good idea? Any reason why this would cause the sound...

Crossover question relating to ground plane
      by Fdas
      Good afternoon all.

I'm slowly but surely making progress on my Statement monitors.

The way I am doing the cross over is to have the mid/tweet on one piece of single sided FR4 and the woofer crossover on a second piece of single sided FR4.

      The FR4 is drilled...

I upgraded from a Denon AVR-2700 receiver to the Outlaw Audio 755 amplifier+Rotel RSP-1068 in that order, in two steps, about 6 months apart. When the Outlaw amplifer showed up with...

      Weird ground loop problem
      by Saurav
Well, weird for me, at least. I got a PE plate amp some time back, and it's hummed from the first day I've hard it. Recently I spent some time trying to narrow it down. Here's what I know so far:

      * There's no video/cable in the system, and I added power strips and cables so everything...

      Power Cords & Plugs
      by Stevebez
Hi sorry to raise this issue again - but where can I get .... (I am based in the UK)

      1. Better fitting IEC power plug - the ones that are shipped are really not up to speed.
      2. Double shielded power cord.

Had a Look at the ones from KEMP Electroniks and Isotek....
