This is no April Fools Joke folks. During the next couple of days, we will be picking a day to migrate HTGuide to a new server. We will have the same reliable service we have always had, as we are not changing Hosting Services, only moving to a new updated state of the art server! Support is working to coordinate things right now.
We will announce the date of migration from old server to the new server in due time. We hope to minimize downtime while the DNS propagates to our new IP address, and service is restored. But some downtime is inevitable.
I am looking inside my 1075 rotel amp and I see blue pots close to
the output transistor are they (BIAS pot) did anybody turn them higher
I am shure rotel put them in conservative setting. hemm.... wondering
While i'm sure it could be possible to eek out a little more power from the 1075 IMO its not worth loosing warrenty over given that the 1075 already packs quite a punch. I've read of other people going that with some HK amps but those were all out of warrenty so there was less risk per say.
so let me get this straight, you can actually increase the power output of the amp? is this similar to overclocking a CPU? will the amp then need to draw more current to output more power? will this lessen the life of the amp?
If these pots are to adjust bias, they are more like the contrast or brightness of your TV... There is one setting which is optimal (at this setting, a small signal will have an influence, and no signal will not generate some noise/sound). Turning it all the way (one way or the other) will likely result in some distortion (loss of sensitivity, or noise).
my tubed equipment has such bias adjustment, and finding the right setting requires a digital multimeter with 3.5 digits of precision... so beware of heavy handedness
First off, i am new to this club but have read many of your links. You guys really know a lot! Anyhow, I am building my stereo/video system and I would love some feedback from anyone out there.

Anyone using their Rotel 1066/1075 combo, or other Rotel amp or receiver, to power NHT speakers? Currently have NHT VT2.4 fronts, VS2.4 center, and VT 1.2 rears, plus the NHT SubOne. My local Rotel dealer does not carry NHT and does not do at home demos. Would hate to buy Rotel (thinking of the 1066/1075)...
Just a quick question..I have recently upgraded my set up to the 1098 and 1075 power amp. I am looking into adding an extra two channels in the very near future, to power my back surrounds. Any ideas as to a good amp which would compliment the 1075, keeping in the Rotel...
I just traded out my Rotel RMB-1095 and Monster HTS1000mkII for a Rotel RMB-1075, Monster HTS5000mkII and Rotel RSP976(v2). Now I have a dillema. Currently I'm using a Yamaha RX-V1400 as a pre/pro, but now I have this 3week old 976. If you had to choose which one would you keep. HELP
