    12v Trigger Instructions....again

ops: I know Andrew posted them way back when but for the life of me I can't find the thread :? I even checked his and Rotel's web pages. If anyone has instructions on how to construct the cable (though it does seem pretty straight forward) or has DIY'd one could you please post the process for myself and others. The only part I'm lost on is that Rotel comments on a single conductor insulated wire. As far as I know all mini-plugs have tab to solder a + and - wire to. So how does that work with just one wire :?:

    P.S.
Andrew, maybe (if we can find the thread) we should post a link in the FAQ section?

The 12 volt triggers are simply a mono 1/8" plug with the centre pin neing hot. Most Radio Shacks should have them in stock if not you can buy the 1/8" mono plugs from them and solder on a cable....it doesn't have to be fancy given the low amperage involved.

Cool, thanks Andrew. Bought the plugs yesterday, will solder them up tonight It will be nice to get it running before I leave for my business trip to Toronto. Easier for the girlfriend and daughter to use then

How to replace tweeter on Matrix 801 S3
        by JürgenW
In the thread 'How to replace tweeters on Nautilus and Signature speakers' DM3000 Owner answered my question about replacing tweeters on the Matrix 801 S3 (and S2) as follows:
        "I did a Matrix tweeter.
You can do it two ways. Both require removing the tweeter housing.

This is a Public Service Announcement for those new to soldering.

Whether you are soldering chips to a printed circuit board, or twelve gauge wire to a passive crossover component, you are most likely using flux-cored solder. Flux is a chemical that etches metal and removes corrosion...

        Solder or crimp-on Tweeter Connection?
        by Armand
        Hi all.

I need to connect very low gauge Cardas wire (I'd guess 10-12ga.), to the tiny posts of a Seas tweeter. Previously the connection was soldered but it looks like a bear to redo as there's not much extra length on the wire connected to the crossover, which makes connecting the two...

I'm about to route the baffles for my sealed ZRTs, and was wondering, everyone's worried about have 0 gauge oxygen free, ultra-mega-super wire from their amp to their speakers, which then goes to passive xovers containing components that have 18-22g wire on them, out to probably 12ga wire connecting...

        Dead Tweeter
        by ---k---
Is it possible that my less than amateur soldering skills killed one of my tweeters? I have two new Seas D26NC55 tweeters sitting here. I didn't test either prior to attempting to install them.

The first one is dead. Because the terminals are so small, I attempted to solder some 14ga...
