    RDV-1050 Vertical Blue Lines

When viewing DVD's on my RDV-1050 I see thin blue vertical lines durring darker moments of the movie. The lines disappear when the image brightens. It is very noticable durring dark moments and durring the credits. I have tried bypassing the RSP-1068 and going directly into the Pioneer Plazma Elite with component cables, but this makes no deference. I just got this DVD-1050. It is possible that the unit is bad?

    Thanks you for your thoughts,

    Dan

I have a similar thing, kind of HORIZONTAL lines displaying during the dark scens only.
I'm playing DVDs from Denon DVD2900, so I think that the player is not an issue.

What is it? Anybody knows about that?

It sounds like you may have a ground loop issue. I've heard that ground loops can cause your display (especially Plasmas) to have rolling lines. Try disconnecting your cable TV coax and see if it goes away.

thanks, but the strange thing is that I do not see the lines while watching TV - they are visible only while watching the dark scenes of DVDs... (?)

It only happens with DVD's on my system as well. What type of display are you using Marekk?

The ground loop from a cable or satellite box in a system can cause the lines in the display even when you are watching something else, such as a DVD player. Try the suggestion and see if it helps. The only thing you can do is start unplugging stuff from the system until the problem goes away and then figure out where the problem starts.

I'll give it a try. Keep you posted.

                Thanks.
