    Nope....

That's how you know the unit is still powered up. If you flick the switch on the 1098 on the back, it will go out as the unit itself is receiving no power. But as long as the switch on the back is on, the unit will have the blue light to it.

What I wish they had done is dimmed the light when off (or on...or changed color), something to differentiate when the unit is on or off. I keep my TFT turned off most times (why use it if it's not displaying anything) and sometimes it's tough to tell if I left it on or off.... Now that I have the fans ran off the 12v trigger, I can easily tell if they are lit up or not, whether I left it on or off.

I second that! Knowing that the unit has power is not as useful as knowing whether its on, especially if it's activated by a trigger input.

          by JudgeBaxter
          Hi guys,

Just a quick ask before I box it all up and ship it back, to see if this has happened to anyone else before.

My RSP-1098 has been working fine out of the box. It's only a few months old (maybe 4 at most), so is onlt just about run in....

Q: Do you turn your uint off?
          by dedepas8
Question: Do you switch your Rotel unit off completely or leave it on standby after use?

The reason I ask is that there are relies clicking when you turn on/off the units like 1098,1095,1080. And with rely they have limited lifetime and will worn out eventually. Should I leave the unit...

          1098 ground loop
          by Glen1
          Hi Guys,
Got a bit of a ground loop buzz with 1098 and 1075. It is a constant volume and only goes away at mute, 0 volume or 1098 off, it's not very loud but there all the same. Volume of buzz does not change at all.
Got two dvd's plugged in via digitial co-axial, cd and set top box...

Shootout : Parasound C2 vs Rotel 1098 (long)
          by DrBoom
Well, it's been almost 2 months now that I've lived with both my Rotel RSP1098 and my Parasound C2 and the time for deciding which I'm going to keep is almost at hand.(not that I HAVE to decide now for some reason, but I'd hate to end up with 2 processors permanently)
I actually own both of them,...
