    older rsp for 2 channel?

    hi,
i'm looking for a simple preamp to be used for 2 channel stereo.
it looks like some of the older Rotel RSP pre/pro are pretty cheap out on the used market. (rsp 960, 970, 980) how were these units for 2 channel output? i am currently using an older NAD 1155, but i want something with a remote.

    thanks for your thoughts.

For me the RSP-980 began the Rotel addiction. Phoenominal 2 channel. The surround modes of the newer stuff wins, but I still reflect back on that for it's "stereo-analog" capabilities.

      Hi,

You best bet is probably the rsp-985, it has a pretty decent stereo performance. The rsp-976 is not bad, but both units might be incompatible with some DTS tracks.

If your goal is Stereo check out the excellent RC-972 and even better RC-995. These are excellent stereo pre-amps.

RSP-1066 front channel to Classé CAP-101

I’m trying to use my Classé CAP-101 integrated amplifier to drive the front channels for RSP-1066. I’ve connected the front L and R pre-outs from RSP-1066 to an input in CAP-101, but I can not ear any sound (even with the volume in RSP-1066...

        Hi Guys,
I suspect the answer will be "No", but I would appreciate some confirmation. I recently purchased a Sony S300 Blu-Ray player. I have the 5.1 analogue outputs connected to the 7.1 multi-channel inputs on my RSP-1098. I use splitters to break the rear channels into the rear and...

        Hi,

There have been a number of postings (mostly in the thread http://www.htguide.com/CFBoards/inde...artRow=1&CFB=1) regarding the low level whistle in the centre channel that some Rotel RSP 1098 users are having (like
